The Commercial Dispute Resolution Team has extensive experience assisting clients to resolve issues arising from companies’ internal and external relationships.
We advise clients how best to protect their interests and to find leverage and a sensible compromise to disputes involving shareholders, directors, investors or other corporate partnership relationships and external business and professional relationships.
Areas of expertise include the following:
- shareholder disputes, including oppression by majority shareholders and joint venture/quasi-partnership disputes and the use and abuse of opaque offshore corporate structures
- corporate governance issues, including issues for company secretaries and directors, directors’ fiduciary duties and directors’ disqualification proceedings

- contractual disputes, including disputes involving commercial agency agreements, distribution agreements, franchise agreements and breach of warranty claims

We are practised in managing complex multi-jurisdictional disputes, ensuring that an effective and co-ordinated strategy is adopted and maintained and which encompasses alternative dispute resolution options as well as litigation-based solutions.
The Team has strong advocacy skills and substantial experience in obtaining injunctive relief, including freezing orders and search and seizure orders.
