Dan has extensive experience, gained both in private practice and in-house, of international oil & gas projects and general corporate/commercial projects. He has worked on matters throughout the Middle East and in many other jurisdictions including Thailand, Indonesia, Turkey, Russia, the USA, Norway and UK North Sea. Dan served as Legal Counsel for BG plc’s Eastern Mediterranean operations with responsibility for projects involving $3 billion capital investment. In particular, Dan was the lead lawyer / negotiator for the unprecedented $1.6 billion Egypt LNG Project, dealing with the matter from concept through to financial close and assisting the Egyptian Government in the re-drafting of their Gas Export Law.

Before joining the firm, Dan enjoyed a varied career working with Eaton Corporation in the automotive and controls industry, running an overseas law office in Cairo, consulting for Brown & Root, working for BG plc initially in the UK and then based in the Middle East and, most recently, operating an independent oil & gas consultancy in the Middle East and Turkey, including acting as adviser to the world’s only privately-owned LNG Regasification Terminal.
