Bloomberg Law Journal - Dan O'Donoghue and Hassan Khan examine the viability of using an Islamic model for oil and gas development?
Given the growth in significance of Islamic Finance, Hassan Khan and Dan O'Donoghue contemplate the extension of Islamic principles to the oil and gas sector in the Special Energy Report of the Bloomberg Buiness Law Review.
Hassan and Dan examine certain elements of the traditional Western-influenced approach to oil and gas projects that could be regarded as conflicting with Islamic ethical principles and established Sharia law concepts. In addition, they consider whether an Islamic-compliant model for development of oil and gas projects is a viable alternative.
