Senior Partner, Hassan Khan, awarded 2008 Professional Excellence Award at the Lloyds TSB Jewel Awards

Hassan Khan was awarded the 2008 Professional Excellence Award at the Lloyds TSB Jewel Awards held at the Hilton Park Lane on Saturday 4 October 2008.

The Jewel Awards is a well established, annual event which recognizes the achievements and contributions made by individuals in the UK Asian community.

Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, personally endorses the Jewel Awards as “recognising entrepreneurial achievement since 2003, this is the biggest gathering of A list Asian Entrepreneurs and Professionals in Britain."Lloyds TSB and many other high profile organisations support the Jewel Awards, including James Caan (founder and CEO of Hamilton Bradshaw and of BBC’s Dragon’s Den), KPMG, Lornamead, TATA Industries and The Commonwealth Business Council, amongst others. Chairmen and Senior Directors from these organizations sit on the Judging Panel and were present in force on Saturday.

This year, there were initially 200,000 nominations which were then reduced to 6,800 nominations across 9 award categories.  In the Professional Excellence category, this consisted of 800 short listed nominations.  Hassan was then short listed down to the final 4.

The Professional Excellence Jewel Award is “awarded for outstanding achievements by Asian individuals in all areas of professional practice within Britain.” 

On receiving the award, Hassan Khan said: "I am delighted with this success, as it is also an award for the hard work of the firm of which we can all be proud."

There were approximately 1000 attendees from all sectors of industry, banking, commerce, MPs, Ministers and the professions.
